Northern California Orthopedic Centers understands the importance of keeping each workers' compensation representative up-to-date on the status of each patient. Our Workers' Compensation Department was created to offer a variety of services to injured workers.
Our physicians and staff understand the importance of working closely with each patient and workers' compensation representative. We provide immediate feedback following each patient visit, and adhere to our goal of returning each patient to the workforce in a timely manner.
Our Workers' Compensation Department offers the following:
- Same day urgent care appointments.
- Appointments within 24 hours.
- Our doctors are trained in ACOEM and AMA guidelines.
- QME, IME and AME Evaluations.
- We specialize in providing comprehensive AME, QME, and IME reports to help with rapid case resolution.
- Board Certified Orthopedist and Podiatrist.
- Our workers' compensation coordinators are experienced in the clinical and clerical aspect of patient care.
- Our workers’ compensation coordinators are trained in legislative guidelines pertaining to workers' compensation.
- We are available to educate employers and workers' compensation representatives about new advances in orthopaedic/podiatric surgery and medicine.
- We are available to present an educational seminar at your facility.

- We provide safety training for the prevention of work-related injuries for employees.

Northern California Orthopedics Centers is committed to providing high quality medical evaluations. We are focused on expedient scheduling of patient examinations and quick turnaround of reports. We comply with AMA and ACOEM guidelines, and provide fair assignment of impairment.
We have years of proven experience in medical/legal orthopedic examinations and patient treatment.
- We specialize in providing comprehensive AME, QME, and IME reports to help with rapid case resolution.
- The patient will always see an Orthopedic Specialist.
- We provide in house contact personnel to answer any employer, adjuster, and attorney questions, and to obtain necessary authorizations

New Patient Office Visit
If you have not yet scheduled an appointment, please click here to access our online scheduling or call our office at (916) 965-4000.
- How do I register for my appointment?
- You may register online through our website prior to your appointment (click here)
- You may register with our Patient Care Coordinator when you arrive for your scheduled appointment.
- You should arrive a minimum of 15 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment time if you plan to complete the registration process in office.
- What should I bring to my appointment?
- Your health insurance card(s)
- A referral from your primary care physician if applicable
- Your co-payment
- A list of your current medications
- A copy of your x-rays, MRI, blood tests or any other diagnostic testing you have completed regarding the condition for which you will be treated.
- A pair of shorts if you will be evaluated for a knee or hip condition
- Our female patients are encouraged to bring a tank top if you are going to be evaluated for a shoulder injury/condition.
- If you are a minor (under the age of 18) you must be accompanied by a parent or guardian
- Bring a translator if needed
- What can I expect during my exam?
- You will be escorted to an exam room by one of our medical assistants
- Your medical history will be reviewed
- We will take a picture of you for your chart (optional)
- You will be required to change into a pair of shorts or an exam gown if applicable.
- You may be required to have x-rays taken within our office
- You will be examined by a physician or physician assistant where your course of treatment will be discussed.
- What do I do after my exam?
- Check out with one of our Patient Care Coordinators, who are located at the front desk, and schedule a follow up appointment
- If you were given any paper work by the physician or physician assistant (ex: prescription for physical therapy), please give these to the Patient Care Coordinators for review
- If diagnostic testing (ex: MRI) was recommended, a medical assistant will contact you within 48 hours to schedule the test.
