Dr. Sasaura joined Northern California Orthopedic Centers in 2002 as a general orthopedic surgeon.  Although he enjoys all aspects of arthroscopy, total joint surgery, pediatrics, and sports injuries, he has a special interest in trauma and joint reconstruction surgery.  He especially excels at minimally invasive surgery and was one of the first surgeons in the area to perform computer assisted total joint replacement.  Dr. Sasaura also serves as chief of the orthopedic division at Mercy San Juan Medical Center and volunteers as Orthopedic clinical faculty at UC Davis.

A California native, Dr. Sasaura earned his medical degree from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), and completed his residency training at the UC Davis Medical Center. After his residency, Dr. Sasaura was awarded the Timothy Bray award for excellence in Orthopaedic Trauma. He is board certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgeons, a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, a member of the California Orthopaedic Association and the Paul R. Limpscomb Orthopedic Society. Dr. Sasauraʼs dedication to his profession is evident through his continued medical education and ongoing participation in clinical research.

Although Dr. Sasaura enjoys the challenging nature of trauma care and thrives under pressure, he equally enjoys the meticulous nature of adult joint reconstruction.  At the same time, his practice often involves the care of children, and his warm personality and individualized attention help them feel safe and comfortable.  His calm and caring manner, along with his experience help keep his patients, young and not so young, at ease.

In his spare time, Dr. Sasaura enjoys outdoor activities such as snowboarding, tennis, and mountain biking, as well as spending time with his wife and two children.
